GamDes1: Analyse and Design

In this class we needed to play games and critique them with the help of some guide questions. In this class we were grouped up and set to make a high concept document of your original game( made up of course since this isn't a programing class) and then present it to your professor.

GmProg: Level 2

Ohhhh~ a Lvl up! New professor new teaching style... But more Unity! I learned in this subject how to make an in game chat box and a multi-player game with LAN. Here was a group project we made(4 person group).

The instructions stated that we were to create a  network game that mimics the Coin Battle Mode from the game New Super Mario Bros. (Nintendo) using Unity3D. We used blender to get the character and assets fixed, but the rest is Unity. We managed to get make a client and server player so that it can be multi-player, but the lag stings.

Aplimat: Applying Evermore Numbers!

Applied Math.... I love math dearly, but it doesn't mean that I'm extremely good at it. In this class I was taught the usage of math in programing in C++ ( Visual Studios ). Topics like graphing parabolas and drawing circles were the basis of our lessons. It was an interesting class having to draw/use a lot of mathematical equations. I recall a particular quiz that used the sine and cosine to color multiple boxes. A few other things that was done with sine and cosine were movement based.
Many  different quests opened in one window.
For the final project we were to join into groups, 3 members maximum. In my group we made a game based on Space Impact ( the old game found on a Nokia cell phone).

GmProg: Level 1

Oh! My BasPro is evolving!... Don't click anything!!.... My BasPro evolved into a GmProg!...GmProg wants to learn C#! But it already has four moves... Delete one move to learn C#?

GmProg1, a class for teaching the ways of the Unity program. This program is used by many developers in creating games worthy of the market. In this class I was taught to make a cannon fire into an empty grass field. It was quite challenging since we have to learn C# and I was more used to C++. The terms and codes were a new language but rather similar to one another, like knowing Mandarin and trying to learn Fu-kien(sp?).  During the lab class we were challenged to make a city using Unity, even if we did not know how to use it. I made mine as a mountain city with defense towers and a temple. The city was located on a mountain with many smaller mountains surrounding it. I based it on a game I was playing, Monster Hunter Freedom United.

In this class we were required to join at least one of the game development competitions, like GameOn and GameJam. The first competition that came up was the Unity Game Jam : Benilde (By Smart DevNet), which I was not able to join due to bad luck in the participant pickers. Before the day of the event we were given a taste of this game jam by a mini-project given to us by our professor. The theme was ZeroStyro and we were given 48hrs( I think) to make a game, just like the real competition.

My would be teammates took the first place prize and did our professors proud. The next competition was the Game On 2012 and were required to compete on master class. We were given one whole month to develop a game under 5mb and under the theme of Philippine Heroes. I am with Team BL-ED we struggled through the months piled with stress and breakdowns, but we took the gold and the stage with NoypiNota.

ConCart : Conquering The World of Concart!

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!! DRAWING MORE STUFF! GASP! And on the drawing tablet O.O....

Check  list of what to do:
- Draw ( characters)
- Draw ( characters)
- Draw ( characters)
- Draw ( environment)
- Draw ( environment)
- Draw ( environment)
- DRAW MOAR!

I'm not to very happy about my work so I can't go wholeheartedly posting my scribbles on line... I must admit that I do better on the paper rather than the drawing tablet... Even the cyntic didn't help... T^T

Here a are few of my works:

BasPro: Level 3

Oh well what do you know I passes again! And leveled up too! BasPro 3 like the first and second classes had me stumbling at the starting line but I still managed to get to the finish line with my three member group. We accomplished the task given to us and fought our way to the finish line, just like all the four membered groups.

This term's project is no longer about the ever memorable game of rock paper scissors, but a game themed on BDaman. I'd need to Credit the maker so here is their official site!

I have a picture of our prototype it unlike the other groups was made with Glut, rather than Blender, BIG mistake. We forgotten that when we made the prototype.

As for the finished project, we finally managed to put together the Blender file with the commands found in the Glut file.

BasPro: Level 2

WhoooHoo! Leveled up and passes BasPro1! They say that BasPro1 was the hardest, but I beg to differ they seem just as tough after you get used to seeing floating code in your sleep and spare time. In this Basic Programing 2 class I developed a habit of using functions to draw and call the 3D objects and the none 3D objects. Sadly I have a limited supply of pictures, this is what happened if one does not back up files as often as one eats. I did manage to find the group final project of Rock Paper Scissors. I made the 3D objects and the others did the other codes. I recall a certain speaker mentioning that the artist should not handle the code. I beg to differ...
